A very special day for PCSO Naz ✨
Today was a busy but incredibly rewarding day at Fullwell Cross Library, Barkingside, where I attended the Chatty Café, hosted by All Nations Church. I had the pleasure of meeting local residents and community members, delivering a presentation and crime prevention advice on scams, mobile phone theft and personal safety.
But one particular conversation made today unforgettable. 💙 A lovely lady told me how much she admired the work I do in the community. She shared that when she was younger, she had always dreamed of becoming a police officer. So, for a very special moment, I took off my Met vest and hat and gave her the opportunity to wear them and experience what it felt like to be “PCSO Naz for the day. Her reaction touched my heart. She became emotional and told me that not many people would have done something like that for her. Seeing the happiness on her face was worth more than I can put into words.
Sometimes policing is not only about uniforms, patrols and crime prevention. It is about people. It is about listening, building trust, creating memories and making someone feel valued.
Today, seeing her smile made me feel that I had achieved my own little star. ⭐ The wonderful feedback from everyone attending made the day even more special. They told me how much they had learned and that they would love to welcome me back for more crime prevention and safety sessions.
I arrived to share safety advice, but I left with something just as valuable: a beautiful reminder of why community engagement matters so much.
